The audio is then transcribed in real time utilizing a HIPAA-compliant speech-to-text external application programming interface (API).

When the doctor clicks on the stop record icon, the audio recording is immediately stopped.

The API-generated transcript is then converted into a medical note utilizing in-house, HIPAA-compliant natural language structuring algorithms and a HIPAA-compliant Large Public Language Model (LLM).

Data storage and processing

Mediscribe Pro does not save any data during this procedure, including live audio consultations, transcripts, and final notes. Mediscribe Pro runs solely on the physician's personal computer, which serves as their local browser store file. This implies that the transcript and suggested note are always stored on the device, not on Mediscribe Pro's servers.

And the data is processed on Mediscribe Pro's servers, which are powered by HIPAA and GDPR-compliant Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as HIPAA-compliant LLM servers.

What about device linking?

If you use Mediscribe Pro on your mobile device, you might wish to 'move' the produced note to a different device where you typically perform charting, commonly a computer. How does this transfer occur? When you connect a device, the mobile device obtains a public encryption key from the secondary device, which is generated using the 'generate key' option on your secondary device. Because the decryption key is exclusively stored on the secondary device, no other individual can decrypt the note that was initially encrypted on the mobile device. This end-to-end encryption procedure ensures the confidentiality and security of the data.
